[Poka-Yoke Example] Poka-Yoke for Inspection Confirmation in Packaging Operations
Achieving prevention of forgetting inspection confirmation in packaging work.
We received a request from an automotive parts manufacturer stating, "In the process of packing products into boxes, we stamp inspection confirmation marks on the products during packaging, and we would like to implement a mistake-proofing system to prevent forgetting to stamp the inspection confirmation marks." This mistake-proofing system consists of a rotary stamp (a stamp that prints with a reversed surface), a simple mistake-proofing counter TW-800R-SCL, and a switch box for Work-Select. The system is designed so that "every time the rotary stamp stamps the inspection confirmation mark on the product, it wirelessly transmits to the TW-800R-SCL to confirm whether the required number of inspection confirmation marks for packaging has been stamped." To realize this mistake-proofing system, we made the following innovations: [Details] (1) The required number of stamps for each packaging box can be switched using the Work-Select switch box. (2) Wireless transmission occurs when the rotary stamp is pressed onto the product. (3) The Work-Select switch box that can be connected to the TW-800R-SC is repurposed. (4) The mechanism of the check pen S is repurposed to attach the transmission function to the rotary stamp. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
